Main Purpose of Position:
The primary focus will be to assist the department managers in managing the client portfolio, supervise the development of CIMA trainee accountants and to supervise the day to day activities of the Department.
Position Overview:
Managing the Financial Statement completion list
• Plan workflow, allocate work to trainees and liaise with clients.
• Review and finalise the Annual Financial Statements.
• Maintain client portfolios and ensure completion of work within client and SARS deadlines.
• Attend to client queries, as well as extensive liaison with partners and tax administrators.

Supervising staff
• Supervise and control work flow and quality of work in the department.
• Ensure staff are planned and productive at all times.
• Address staff related problems, with the assistance of the managers.

Ad hoc duties
• Keep up to date with technical issues and train staff in this area.

• Monitor productivity of the Trainee Accountants by review of timesheets & assignments.
• Prepare and agree budgets with clients.
• Prepare monthly fee sheets for billing purposes.
• WIP Management

Qualifications and Experience:
• BCom Degree (Accounting, Financial Accountant or Management Accounting). Honours would be an advantage.
• CIMA/SAICA training contract completed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Technically competent i.e. knowledge of accounting statements, tax and other relevant Acts.
• Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office, Pastel and Caseware essential. A working knowledge of Greatsoft would be an advantage.
