R&D and grants

The Research ad development incentive encourages South African companies to invest in scientific or technological research and development. 

Section 11D allows up to 150% deductions of expenditure incurred and accelerated depreciation deductions. 

The firm's finance professionals such as auditors and tax accountants are experienced in claiming R&D tax relief.

The South African government has grant and other assistance programmes available to qualifying businesses.  There are a number of funding options, each with their own qualifying criteria attached and varying accounting and tax treatments.
